Are Women Exploited in Network Marketing?

Kim Klaver over at New School Network Marketing asked this question:

Do MLM companies exploit women and their support networks of friends, as sales objects?

There’s no doubt in my mind that many companies are designed to use a women’s network of friends to grow their business.  In fact, they count on it.  I’ve been involved with several of those companies.  I did well also, but I didn’t buy into that plan.  I strove to always approach everything I did from the point of serving and assisting others, and helping them get what they truly wanted. And what they wanted wasn’t up to me to decide.

That’s one thing I really like about BookWise.  Robert Allen’s weekly training calls specifically teach not to hit up your friends and family.  He teaches to spend the time sharing good things with them, sharing knowledge with others, and to do so without the expectation of anything in return.

He emphasizes that you should be someone who seeks to serve others and help them.  If you do that than the other will take care of itself.

It is wonderfully refreshing to be associated with a company that doesn’t expect you to  make your list of 100 names and go present a business opportunity to them, but to instead make that list of 100 names and set-out to serve them.  And to serve them with an open heart and without expectation.  By serving others the universe pays you back 100 fold.
